9th of February is National Toothache Day
Most toothaches are the result of tooth decay, The pain you feel is usually when you eat or drink something sweet, very hot or very cold. This is an alarm bell telling you that the pulp is irritated. The pulp is the inside of your tooth, where the tissue and nerves are located. You’ll feel it in the entire tooth if the pulp becomes infected. Although some tooth aches are nothing more than sensitivity.
As a patient this can sometimes be as painful as a decayed tooth. We recommend you do not ignore toothache even if you think it is not serious. There may be no visible signs of decay as you can see from the cross section from the teeth above. This is why it is important to visit us on a regular basis. That way problems are detected early enough to treat before you get tooth ache!
Many of our patients are now booking advanced appointments when they come in for their exams. This enables us to give you times and holiday appointments to suite you.
