Please lets see how far we have come and celebrate that!
Many of us are all too aware of restrictions and what we have missed out on but lets just take a moment to see where we were a year ago.
Dentists only just began to resume any kind of treatment in practice and were allowed to see patients again as of the 8th of June 2020!! In the whole of my 32 years in dentistry I have never known our doors shut to our patients. We were triaging patients over the phone and normal examinations were out of the question at that time as many patients had emergences that needed urgent attention.
So as we move forward towards July 2021, yes we were assuming we would have reached the next step into regaining “freedom” as we knew it before covid… and I know it is frustrating we have not achieved that. As for Yew Tree practice our Covid safety procedures will remain unchanged for all of our continued safety for the time being.
Some concerning press reports and conversations I have had over the past few weeks have highlighted to us that patients are struggling to find a new dental practice, even on a private basis. We can confirm we are accepting New private patients and new Denplan patients.
As many of us may have had the privilege to book a holiday abroad again we do still ask you, if you have been abroad (even if it is classed as a ‘Green List ‘ country) Please do not attend the practice until they have been back in the UK for 2 weeks.
I would also like to remind all of you our practice is cashless as of June 2020!
We ask all of our patients to pay by card/apple pay etc.
I felt I had to include this on my news letter this month.
In a fast moving world, technology sometimes takes preference – I am old fashioned and I have to say I just loved that one of our lovely patients bought us a card to say thank you.
We would like to thank each and every one of you that takes the time to leave us feedback we really do appreciate you all.
World Environment Day
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5 June and is the United Nations ‘ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
While it is impossible to turn back time even the slightest of change can make a difference!
Recently I noticed high street clothing companies taking this into their stores with “conscious clothing” being a great success. H&M has been trying to position itself as a brand that cares about the environment. It has done so with its Conscious Collection, a line of clothing made of sustainably sourced materials, and in-store recycle bins. They are not the only store that has started to do this but they are a good example
Also one of our biggest brands of intraoral brushes have gotten on board. The Good range is part of a TePe initiative to make a difference for the good of the planet, The tongue cleaner is made from sugar cane renewable raw materials. It is produced using 100% green energy, partly from TePe’s own roof top solar panel facility. The TePe GOOD Toothbrush – a unique toothbrush with the same TePe quality, design and feeling as always, but made from 96% bio-based plastic.
I am not sure how spoilt the queen was on her birthday but I certainly was!
